Get the training you need - The average, boring campus newspaper excludes conservatives. Learn how to fight back against the liberal college media at one of the Leadership Institute’s Student Publications trainings. Expert faculty travel to your campus to share the secrets of producing a professional-quality newspaper. Student Publications Workshop - The Student Publications Workshop is an intensive four-hour workshop which gives you the tools to hit the ground running. Training sessions focus on recruiting a staff, defining your mission, fundraising, and many other topics to get your publication started immediately. Graduates of the Student Publications Workshop are eligible to apply for the Walter Kandel Balance in Media Grant which helps new publications get off the ground by contributing up to $800 for the first issue.
Advanced Student Publications Workshop - Your campus conservative publication already battles the campus left. You have done well, but you want to recruit more staff, raise more funds, and improve your content and layout. This hands-on seminar tackles specific issues such as page layout and design, feature-writing techniques, advanced fundraising methods, and investigative reporting.
